7X stool

Combining a robot with a chainsaw? Why not?! The discrepancy between rough vs. smooth, high-tech vs. nature, mass production vs. unique object embodied in this project.

Along predefined coordinate points in 3D-Space the chainsaw is fed through the wood with more than 0.1mm precision. Even though the toolpath is precise, the chainsaw is quite the rough tool to work with, the resulting wooden stool object is still one of a kind, due to its  natural origin.

Starting at HfG-Karlsruhe as a semester project, the project was soon recognized by KKAARRLLS and ECHTWALD
